History
"A planned community."
Worthington was named after Thomas Worthington, Senator and future governor of Ohio when it was settled in October 1803. Eleven families traveled over 600 miles by wagon from Connecticut from Ohio. Worthington was connected to the capital of Columbus by electric street railway in 1893.
The city of Worthington lands east of tthe Olentangy River, approximately 12 miles north of the state capital, Columbus. Worthington sits in Franklin County.
