History

"Where yesterday meets tomorrow"

First named Middlebury, because the first settlers came from Middlebury, Connecticut. The area of Powell, Ohio was first settled around 1801, two years prior to Ohio becoming a state.

The city of Powell lands between the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers, approximately 14 miles north of the state capital, Columbus. Powell sits within Liberty Township, the site of the first settlement in Delaware County.
